'Major power outage' shuts down UI athletic facilities; tennis center still closed

The outage affected Atkins Tennis Center, the Ubben basketball practice facility, the Bielfeldt Athletic Administration building 'and a few other buildings,' officials said. By 12:35 p.m., power had been restored to all except Atkins.

URBANA — A “major power outage” shut down multiple athletic facilities Monday morning on the University of Illinois campus, with Atkins Tennis Center remaining closed until at least Tuesday afternoon.
